Space, the final...
| "Saturn as never seen before!"
Ever seen the back side of Saturn? This picture was taken by the Voyager
just after it passed by on its way to Uranus(bad name for a planet). Voyager is on a trek
to the edges of our solar system and beyond. (Below Left) |
| "The sun in the Buff!!!" The
picture to the right is actually an image captured by photographing only the X-rays given
off by the Sun. The areas of high intensity are solar flares. Nice! (Above

| "Out damned spot!!" The
spot of spots can be seen here on the surface of the planet Jupiter. The Great Red Spot,
as it is so aptly named, is actually a storm in the atmosphere of Jupiter. The high winds
and extraordinarily complex and variable wave motion cause the spot to change as it moves
across the planet surface. Very, very cool. (Below) |
| "Pluto & Charon" This view of
Pluto was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. It shows a rare image of tiny Pluto with
its moon Charon, which is slightly smaller than the planet. Because Pluto has not yet been
visited by any spacecraft, it remains a mysterious planet. (Above Right) |
